Last week, I sent hubby an impulsive text message because I wanted to go to a $1700 photography workshop. Well that is definately out of the question financially. So now I’m working on Plan B…BlogHer. It is still on the table. We are in negotiation. So I need to formulate my reasons, prepare for the debate. Why? Because I really suck at debates. I hate confrontation. So here are my reasons so far:
- This years conference is in Chicago. We live in Detroit. You can’t get much closer than that for a conference.
- I can get the student rate of $75.
- I could do “BlogHer on a Budget”. Take the MegaBus, Stay at the Hostel. It will be like the backpacking through Europe trip I never got to take.
- My boss already approved the day off.
- I want to meet my new online BFFs. I don’t even have any real BFFs.
- I seem to recall someone begging for a new F150 when we had a car with no car payments. I said yes to that.
- Golf Weekends, Bowling Tourneys.
- I haven’t taken a weekend for myself in how long?
- I might need a vacation from our vacation.
- I gave birth to your two children. Let me remind you that Mitchell was 9 lbs 12 oz.
Please feel free to add any additional reasons on “why I deserve to go to BlogHer?”
How did you win your hubby over?
I need all the help I can get girls.

well, I’m not a lady, but a great friend of mine works for blogher, Jes over at http://www.chirky.com and so I know that you would have a great time there.
Also… men can be persuaded with appetites of the flesh, namely, food. So fix a big delicious dinner and then give a nice back rub all the while mentioning how relaxed you’ll be after a fun get away and how he can have some alone time with the fellas and that should do the trick. It would work on me.. but I’m not married yet, if I were, my wife wouldn’t have to sweet talk me, I’d just say yes… but I’d want to tag along and site see in the city.

I think reasons 6 & 7 are good enough… but 10? Good Lord! My first was 9 lb 4 oz and I thought that was a little much to push out!

Thank god for an epidural and I almost didn’t get one. I was already at 6-7 when I got to the hospital. When they said that I said “six…I’m at six…I can have an epidural at six..” Luckily they agreed with me.
